First Smile Loses Privacy Policy
First Smile Loses is published by MTH Studio. This policy explains how the app handles data.
Data collection
First Smile Loses uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to monitor app traffic, usage, and stability. Firebase may collect app activity and diagnostics such as app opens, screen views, round start/completion events, device and app information, timestamps, crash stack traces, and Firebase-generated installation identifiers.
MTH Studio uses this information to understand app usage, find crashes, and improve the app. MTH Studio does not sell this data. The app does not include advertising SDKs, account sign-in, or a custom backend service.
Advertising ID collection and ad personalization signals are disabled for Firebase Analytics.
Camera and face detection
The app uses the device camera so players can play the smile-detection game. Camera frames are processed on the device using on-device face detection. Camera frames and face-detection results are not uploaded to a server.
Firebase events may include aggregate gameplay context such as round number, round duration, and the number of smiling faces detected in a completed round. Camera frames, photos, videos, face bounding boxes, face IDs, and smile probabilities are not uploaded to Firebase.
Replay videos
During a round, the app may create a temporary replay video in the app's private cache on the device. Users can choose to save a replay video to their device Gallery. Saved videos remain on the user's device unless the user shares or deletes them.
Local settings
The app stores local settings, such as smile threshold and sound preference, on the user's device. These settings are not transmitted to MTH Studio or third parties.
Permissions
The app requests camera permission to run the game and internet access to send Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics data. On Android 9 and below, the app may request storage permission so users can save replay videos to their device Gallery.
Children's privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
MTH Studio may update this policy when the app changes. Updates will be posted on this page.
